I, Lorna Linley, am a soprano from Luton, England. I am writing to give the first opportunity of booking me as I begin my bountiful and prestigious career.

I would like to offer you the opportunity of featuring me in your next concert - "Music for Soprano & Piano Accordian". The chance to bring a wonderful female voice into your artistry will be too great to turn down I am sure. I, too, have a voice that must be nurtured and cherished like the most fragile petal floating in the breeze on a warm summer's day.

Born in Luton, I studied at the university in my home town. I also began my career there, to critical acclaim ("Lorna Linley ..... was mesmerising" - Luton Echo) with roles including Micaela, Carmen, the title
roles in Lucia di Lammermoor and The Merry Widow, and Violetta La Traviata for Luton Town Opera.

Winner of several prizes (Slough Music Festival Silver Bowl Award for "Songs from Shows and Films, 1998 and the Milton Keynes Music Festival first prize for "Ladies Open Solo") and scholarships including the Tonbridge Echo Young Artist Award 1993, I am now based in Slough.

I sang the role of the Dew Fairy Hansel und Gretel for the Stockport Opera and have sung several roles for Bangor Opera including Norina Don Pasquale and Caria Garbineati Vivo la Mamma (Donizetti). I will sing Lucia for Preston Light Operatic Society later this year.

I relax by playing Scrabble and doing yoga.

Thank you for your time. You will not regret working with Lorna Linley.

What a wonderful picture, I do not hesitate to say that it is the third, no, second best rendering of 'l'accordion et plus de la monsieur' I have seen this year. Wonderful stuff!

Bonjour. Or, perhaps I should say, Bon soir. I am finding your page and it makes me most, most happy. But also, the alas, it makes me most sad also. You see, with your dappled blue eyes, your quasi-retro proto mullet, and your jeans of tight, tight denim, you remind me most sadly of myself. I too, it should be noted, bear a striking resemblence to yacht-surfing beef potato music man Rod Stewart. Or at least I did. Before le accident.

You see, my skinny, music-fingered friend, I too used to play the accordion (note the spelling), tramping the oozing beret-paved streets of my own sweet La Rochelle, charming the ladies - and the hens - with strains of purest musical silk. I was once the number one on rusty squeezebox in all of La France! Proud days! Perhaps you have heard of Le Boeuf? The intro to Allo Allo? That was me. That roguish tinkle of wheezing ragtime that used to accompany le Nine O'Clock News? Me also. The ill-fated Chunnel-themed boy Band Cicatrice? Sadly, that too was my idea, springing from my trusting musical loins like verdant brioche! But I digress. Five years ago, I was playing a polka, a schlotteses, and, yes, a waltz outside Cafe De La Maginot in Dieppe, when, lost in a languid, bestial solo, like the roar of the wind through a bent stovepipe - so beautiful, so clear, so honeyed! - my accordiarm (the arm with which I pump those saintly bellows) caught itself in the sangfroid of a passing velomoto, and my skinny-trousered, gently tousled form was tossed into the street like a piece of bitter nougat. I never recovered - never! And all because of that acursed squeezebox machine! A pox on this salty destiny! A pox! But mark my words, I suggest you take up a different instrument - have considered ye the spoons? the guiro? the theramin? Lest your own crimson essence splitter-splat on the streets of your own Montmartre, like a frozen dream, the yawn of a baby, the rise of a sap-filled wasp.

Brother of the squeeze - I bat away a tear and salute your brave intentions. And, yes, do double-check the spelling of accordion. Or at least aim for some manner of consistency.
